arla's Magic began when a rookie newspaper reporter, short on cash, baked cookies as holiday gifts for her colleagues and friends. She baked at night, after work. It was a passion, not a profession, but it continued to grow.

From reporter to press secretary, from newspapers to television, from statehouse to the White House, campaigns and cookies mixed. With politics as a day job, Marla continued to bake, ‘by the light of the moon.’
